LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Six Southern California financial institutions were named Wednesday recipients of nearly $330 million in federal funds aimed at providing loans and other assistance to small and minority-owned businesses.
The awards of Emergency Capital Investment Program funds were part of $671 million doled out to 10 institutions across California, and nearly $9 billion nationally, according to the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The Columbia Memorial Space Center (CMSC) will host a live stream in celebration of National STEM Day on November 8th, featuring a live Q&A with lead engineer for the Mars Perseverance and Curiosity rovers and STEM education advocate Diana Trujillo. The Q&A will be followed by a STEM-inspired project demonstrated by CMSC’s Girls in STEM club. Sponsored by Financial Partners Credit Union, the broadcast will be offered for free to California schools, whose students can ask Diana questions and also recreate the Girls in STEM Club’s project in their classrooms.
